Geir Bye and Bjoernar Hansen are becoming recognized around the world for their magical photography of the Northern Lights around Tromso Norway, known as the “Gateway to the Arctic”. Their love of the adventure that waits behind the actual photo is one of the reasons that they continue to chase the lights. “no one ever knows when the lights will arrive”, Geir says with a smile. “The whole thing is a process to get the perfect natural photo” sitting outside, gazing at the sky, standing by a fire in the middle of the night, talking about life sets the stage for the incredible light show they hope to capture on film. Bjoernar and Geir agree, “The one thing that you must have is patience and the luck of the draw”.

Explaining the magic of Northern Lights can be said in one word, “unpredictable” Bjoernar Hansen’s love of the Lights and photography keep him out late at night under the sky waiting for the dance to arrive. Bjoernar says, “you never know what the camera will pick up”. The two friends keep-a constant watch for the Aurora creating spectacular photos that take your breath away!

 We are proud to say that Bjoernar and Geir will participate in the “Dancing Lights” Trip to Tromso Norway. They will be guest speakers for our travelers telling of their search for the lights and that perfect photo! Also, they will join us for a night to chase the lights. These two talented men, have created a postcard calendar and prints of the light magic they have found. These will be for sale to our group. An upcoming project the two “Aurora Chasers” are preparing is a book filled with the Northern Lights of Tromso.
